A 25-year-old Singaporean, Daniel Goh, has gained attention online for creating Chimbridge, a Singlish dictionary. The project features humorous entries inspired local expressions and everyday speech commonly used in Singapore.

Many of these entries include creative phrases and one of the examples “lao hong biscuit”, which describes something that has become outdated over time. The creator, started the project as a personal passion, wanted to showcase the uniqueness of Singlish highlight how language reflects identity in society.

He believes Singlish plays unique role in shaping how Singaporeans communicate others in daily life. Through Chimbridge, he hopes to provide a platform creative expression and cultural sharing among online users different walks of life.
